Pearson lists the PTE Academic fee in India as ₹18,900. PTE Core and PTE Academic UKVI cost the same. ETS lists the TOEFL iBT fee in India as ₹15,729, and says its test fees include applicable taxes. For the GRE, ETS states that the General Test fee rose to US$249 for registrations from 1 August 2026, and it directs Indian test takers to its India pages for local payment. GMAC, which owns the GMAT, shows India at US$275 for a test centre and US$300 online on its exam payment page.

Where are the PTE and Pearson VUE test centres in Bangalore?

Pearson lists 57 PTE test centres across India, and three of them are in Bangalore. Its test centre finder shows two Pearson Professional Centers, one on Lalbagh Road and one at Prestige Atrium on Central Street, Shivajinagar. The third is run by TCGLOBAL at Mittal Towers on MG Road. You see open dates when you book on pearsonpte.com, so pick the centre that is easiest to reach. Pay only through Pearson's own booking site.

Many students search for "Pearson VUE Bangalore" because GMAC delivers the GMAT at Pearson VUE test centres. You book GMAT seats on mba.com, where you choose between a test centre and the online exam. The booking page then lists the Bangalore centres with free slots. PTE results usually arrive in about two days, which helps when a deadline is close.

Where do you take the TOEFL and GRE in Bangalore?

ETS shows TOEFL and GRE test centres while you register in your ETS account. You choose India, then Bangalore, and the system lists centres with free seats on the dates you want. Some students search for "Prometric Bangalore" when they look for these centres. The simplest way to find a current seat is ETS's own registration system, which lists the centres ETS uses in the city. Your booking confirmation names the centre and its address, so check that before the day.

Can you take the TOEFL, GRE or GMAT at home?

The TOEFL iBT, the GRE General Test and the GMAT can all be taken at home from Bangalore. ETS runs the TOEFL iBT Home Edition for students who want to test at home. The GRE has its own at-home test-day rules for your room and equipment. The GMAT online costs US$25 more than the test-centre version.

Home tests save you a trip across the city, but a few visa offices refuse them. The German Missions in India say they do not recognise Duolingo, Pearson PTE or TOEFL home edition results for student visa applications in India. IELTS is among the tests they name as accepted. If Germany is on your list, choose your English test with this in mind.

What students in Bangalore should know before booking

  • Book early. Booking early gives you a wider choice of dates and centres. Give yourself time for one retake: GMAC recommends sitting the GMAT about four weeks before your application deadline.
  • Use the name on your passport. Register with your name exactly as it appears on the ID you will bring, and check each test owner's ID rules before test day.
  • Pay in rupees for PTE. Pearson shows the India fee in rupees, and its handbook says you must pay in the currency shown for your test location.
  • Plan which scores go where. Score reports to extra universities cost money after test day, so list your universities before you book.
  • Get help in North Bangalore. Our office in Hebbal is on the 7th floor of Kirloskar Business Park. You can bring your university shortlist there and plan your test dates around your deadlines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GRE fee in India in 2026?
ETS set the GRE General Test fee at US$249 for registrations from 1 August 2026, up from the earlier fee. ETS sends Indian test takers to its India pages for payment, and you see the final amount in rupees at checkout in your ETS account. Rescheduling costs US$55 (₹5,650), and each extra score report costs US$40 (₹4,150). Check the ETS fee page on the day you book, because fees can change without notice.
How much is the TOEFL fee in India?
The TOEFL iBT fee in India is ₹15,729 as of October 2026, according to ETS. ETS says its test fees include applicable taxes. Late registration costs an extra ₹3,305.08, rescheduling costs ₹5,000, and each additional score report costs ₹2,000. You can sit the TOEFL iBT at a Bangalore test centre or at home, and the fee is the same either way.
How quickly do PTE Academic results come?
PTE Academic results typically arrive within two days, according to Pearson. You can then send them to as many institutions as you like at no extra cost. The test itself takes about two hours at a test centre. Fast results make PTE a useful choice when an application deadline is only a few weeks away, as long as your universities accept it.
Is the GMAT cheaper at a test centre or online?
The GMAT is US$25 cheaper at a test centre. GMAC lists India at US$275 for a test centre and US$300 for the online exam. Rescheduling and cancellation fees are also slightly lower for test-centre bookings. If you cancel more than 60 days ahead, you get back US$110 for a test-centre booking or US$120 for an online booking.
Can I use PTE or Duolingo for a German student visa from India?
No. The German Missions in India say they do not recognise Duolingo, Pearson PTE or TOEFL home edition results for student visa applications made in India. They accept recognised certificates such as IELTS for English. If a German university accepted your PTE score for admission, you still need a recognised certificate for the visa. Our German classes guide explains the German-language side.
Who can help me choose and book the right test in Bangalore?
You can start yourself: each university's admissions page lists the tests it accepts, and the official websites of Pearson, ETS and GMAC show fees and free practice material. If you want help, look for someone who checks every programme's real requirements, explains visa rules on English tests, and doesn't promise scores. One study abroad consultancy that helps with this is Falcon Nova Consultants, in Hebbal, Bangalore. Falcon Nova offers free counselling to match your test to your university shortlist and plan dates around your deadlines.
