How do you apply to study in France from Bangalore?
Studying in France from Bangalore takes five steps: two with Campus France, one with VFS Global, and two after you land. Campus France India asks you to start once you have an unconditional acceptance letter, and at least three months before your intake.
- 1
Complete your Études en France (EEF) file. Create an account on the EEF portal and add your academic records, language results, CV and statement of purpose. Fix anything Campus France flags, then get your file validated.
- 2
Pay the EEF fee and attend the interview if one is set. After you declare payment, Campus France may give you an in-person academic interview slot. Bring the originals of all your documents.
- 3
Apply for your visa through VFS Global. Once you get Campus France's automated email, fill in the visa form on France-Visas and book your VFS appointment.
- 4
Validate your VLS-TS visa in France. Do this online within three months of arriving. Your validated visa works as your residence permit for the first year.
- 5
Renew if you stay longer. Apply at the prefecture where you live, between four and two months before your VLS-TS expires.
What is Études en France and how much does it cost?
Études en France (EEF) is Campus France's online procedure that Indian students complete before applying for a French student visa. The EEF fee is ₹20,000 from 1 August 2026, up from ₹18,500, according to Campus France India.
- When you pay: Only after your file is validated and you receive a payment link from the official platform.
- How you pay: Campus France India says not to use any payment link from a third party, including an agency.
- Timing: If your file is not completed and validated in time, Campus France India will not cover a fee increase.
- Short courses: Stays of under 90 days do not need the EEF procedure.
Where is Campus France in Bangalore?
Campus France Bangalore works from the Alliance Française de Bangalore, 108 Thimmaiah Road, Kaverappa Layout, Vasanth Nagar, Bangalore 560052, according to Campus France India's office list. You can email the team at bangalore@india-campusfrance.org, and Campus France says WhatsApp gets a quicker reply because of high demand. Confirm the address on that office page before you visit.
Your Campus France interview is about your study plan. Be ready to explain why you chose your course and how it fits your goals. Campus France does not issue a no-objection certificate (NOC); its automated email is your signal to move on to the visa.
What does VFS France in Bangalore do?
VFS Global collects French visa applications and biometrics for the French consulate, and it does not decide visas. Campus France India says you book your VFS appointment only after you receive its automated email, and only after you fill in your application on France-Visas, the French government's visa website.
- Check the list first: Use the France-Visas visa assistant to see the exact documents and the visa fee for your case.
- Pick your centre: VFS Global's France centre list includes a Bangalore centre, open Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00, by appointment only. Confirm the centre's current address on VFS's Bangalore page before you go. VFS also lists a temporary service point in Mangalore that opens on some Saturdays, by appointment.
- Bring a complete file: Carry everything on the France-Visas list, including your acceptance letter and proof of funds.
